Ms Sykes and Destiny
Hello Marsteller Art students!

Oh, how I miss you all!! I trust that everyone is taking care of themselves and staying safe. I know that this is a scary and strange experience we are all navigating through together.

On the following classroom pages I will be posting weekly assignments starting Monday, April 20th. If you would like feedback on these projects, please send a picture of the project to my email address: sykeskj @pwcs.edu.

My office hours are every Tuesday from 1:30-3:00 where I will be available for immediate email responses. Other days I will respond within 24 hours.

Also, send me pictures of any art projects/activities you have been working on at home...I would love to see them!!

Take Care and be Creative!

Ms. Sykes

I have been teaching Art at Marsteller Middle School for twenty-one years.  In my Art classes students are exposed to drawing, painting, ceramics, printmaking and sculpture.  I also sponsor an after school Art Club which allows students more in-depth instruction within the Fine Arts.

I graduated from Longwood College (now University) with a B.F.A. in Studio Art and then George Washington University with a Masters of Education.  I have been employed as a graphic designer and visual specialist.  When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my horses, creating with clay, and cheering on the New York Giants!
