Dear Marsteller Families,

It’s a great time to be a Bulldog!  We had an excellent school year, despite the unprecedented pandemic closing, and we have many wonderful learning opportunities planned for students for the 2020-21 school year.  From engaging activities to stimulating conversations, our students will experience the joy of learning while making friends and memories along the way.   Our highly qualified staff strives to provide experiences for each student that are individualized and developmentally appropriate.  Our staff has had an opportunity to hone their technology and virtual skills and will be utilizing these strategies throughout the school year regardless of where learning takes place.

As the lead learners of the school, your administrative team is excited to continue to work together and learn how to enhance instruction and learning in every classroom.  Prince William County Schools offers multiple opportunities for professional development, and we will take advantage of every opportunity we have to be better instructional leaders.  Our teachers are also participating in exciting professional development opportunities with teams of teachers attending the Virginia Project Based Learning Institute, and multiple other trainings and professional development sessions throughout the summer months.

Our Leadership Team at the building level has representatives from every department and we will continue work together to provide world-class instruction as we strive to maintain some of the highest standardized test scores in the county and state.   Our schedule provides teachers time to plan together within the school day to best meet the needs of every student.  Our shared leadership structure and supportive family atmosphere keep our highly qualified teachers coming back year after year.  Our developmentally and culturally responsive approach to all our middle school students fosters academic growth and a proud school community.

We begin each day by reciting this pledge via the morning announcements.

“We are a community whose members know that they are valued and respected.  We will choose each day to strive for excellence:  in our school, in our friendships, and most importantly, in ourselves.”

It is what we believe and what we work towards in everything we do.  We hope you believe in us as educators as much as we believe in our students.  Working together as a team we can do great things to inspire our students and foster their love of life-long learning.

Very truly yours,

Your Administrative Team
