Dear Marsteller Community,
Marsteller Middle School is comprised of a community of learners committed to the principles of academic excellence, developmental responsiveness, and social equity, built on the foundation of quality organizational structures that support our endeavors. The dedicated educators of Marsteller Middle School understand the middle level learner and strive to create an instructional environment that meets their needs. Our students experience the joy of learning while making friends and memories along the way.
Marsteller Middle School has a distinguished and rich history dating back to 1963 when the original Marsteller Middle School was dedicated. At that time, it was known as the Emlyn Harrison Marsteller School, named for a country doctor from our area. We have so much of which to be proud, including our designation of a School to Watch since 2005, our Math and Science Specialty Program, our leading role in Project Lead the Way at the middle level, our highly celebrated Music program, our acclaimed Athletic programs, our remarkable teachers and staff in all contents, and our reputation as a responsive educational setting where our partnerships with families support a world class middle school.
We believe in the process of continuous improvement and remain focused on learning and sharing best practice strategies and techniques that promote student growth. Our shared leadership structure and supportive family atmosphere keep our highly qualified teachers coming back year after year. Our developmentally and culturally responsive approach to all our middle school students fosters academic growth and a proud school community.
Each morning we recite with our students a statement, which affirms our shared belief in all we can do and be:
"We are Marsteller. We are a community whose members know they are valued and respected. We choose each day to strive for excellence: in our school, in our friendships, and most importantly in ourselves."
It is what we believe and what we work towards in everything we do. We hope you believe in us as educators as much as we believe in our students. Working together as a team we can do great things to inspire our students and foster their love of lifelong learning.
Very truly yours,
Ms. Lisa Warner
Principal
