Purpose
The Science Fair Club is an opportunity for students to go further in science, explore their personal interests and complete independent research. Students will select a research topic, conduct an experiment, collect and analyze data, then publish and share their results. Participation in the Science Fair Club is optional and will not affect a students’ grades or status in a specialty program. Students interested in qualifying for the Regional Fair are strongly encouraged to join!
- Students will complete Science Fair Club projects independently, in pairs or in a trio. Team projects of no more than three students are allowed. Students may choose to create groups with any other student(s) at Marsteller, as long as the groups are approved by Mr. Barrett.
- Science fair projects are independent and to be conducted at home; however, students may request resources and support from the school depending on their project.
- Before you start your experiments: Project Proposal Form must be signed by a parent/guardian, and signed by science fair coordinator Mr. Barrett.
Schedule
The Science Fair Club operates as an “open house”. Students may be ready with ideas and get through the Project Proposal Form on their own, or they may need time after school to brainstorm ideas and work out each step of their projects.
